Blue That Calms explores the relationship between colour, materiality, and perception through an immersive field of blues and greens.
Generous layers of oil paint and fragmented brushstrokes reveal subtle shifts of light, lilac, and warmer tones within the predominantly cool palette. Without a fixed horizon or a single focal point, the eye moves continuously across the surface and encounters depth through colour and matter.
Despite the density of the paint and the intensity of its chromatic variations, the work carries a sense of stillness. The painting develops through this tension between movement and quiet, suggesting a landscape experienced through immersion rather than the representation of a specific place.
