El Jardín Secreto

The Secret Garden began with the intention of exploring an arid landscape, distant from the vegetation that had become recurrent in my work. During the painting process, however, the composition gradually moved in another direction. Colour returned, organic forms emerged, and the landscape became a garden.

This unexpected shift became part of the work itself. Dense layers of oil paint construct a landscape in which vegetation is suggested rather than precisely described. Earthy tones establish the foundation of the composition, while pinks, violets, greens, and blues create different areas of depth and movement.

The work reveals the intuitive dimension of painting and the recurring presence of nature within my visual language. What began as an attempt to move away from the garden ultimately made visible how deeply it had already entered my pictorial vocabulary.
